What is a sleeping disorder?
A sleeping disorder refers to any condition that interferes with the quality and quantity of a person's sleep.
It can affect athletes just as much as any other individual, often presenting unique challenges to performance and overall well-being.
There are several different types of sleep-wake disorders - insomnia is the most common. Athletes who struggle with insomnia may experience difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. Other sleep-wake disorders include obstructive sleep apnea, parasomnias, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome.
